The Yagcibedir (Yağcıbedir) carpets are a form of carpets made in west of Anatolia, more specifically in Balıkesir. It is thought that it was first produced by former nomadic tribes named ''Yaycı Yörük'' who have been living around Sindirgi and Bigadic( Sındırgı and Bigadiç) villages. It is made using lambswool, and commonly include the colours red, dark blue and white in its patterns. Along with these a shade of cream, green and brown tones are also seen in some rugs.
The Yagcibedir carpets are famous for its creative patterns. Thought the patterns in these rugs are usually very simple, each rug is made to tell a story using these simple patterns and colors.
